There are over 75 units available under the Certificate III in Flooring Technology (MSF30813), as well as various external units that can be ‘imported’ into the course from other qualifications. To satisfy the ‘packaging rules’, apprentices must undertake all 11 core units and choose an additional 14 elective units.
For full details on the packaging rules and units available for the qualification, go to the Commonwealth Government’s ‘training.gov.au’ website here.
To make the selection process easier for apprentices and their employers, the Academy has grouped particular combinations of units into five different streams. Each stream represents one or more categories of floor covering installation, as follows:
- Sanding & Finishing
- Multi-Stream (Carpet, Resilient, Timber)
At the end of each stream are several substitute elective units, which can be used to customise the program further, if required.
